About the Beach
Mikros Simos Beach is the smaller and more protected sister beach to Megalos Simos, located just on the other side of a narrow neck of sand that connects the main island to a small rocky peninsula that juts out into the sea. Because it is smaller and tucked into a more enclosed bay, the water here is often even calmer and warmer, making it look like a giant natural swimming pool with bright white sand at the bottom and tiny colorful shells scattered along the edge. The dunes here are also very large and impressive, and they provide a bit of a windbreak that makes this side of the bay a favorite for people who want to relax and float in the still water for hours while looking at the sky. It is a very picturesque spot where you can see the two different bays meeting in a thin line of sand, and it is frequently used in travel magazines to show off the most incredible and vibrant colors of the Greek sea.
