About the Beach
Panormos Beach is a remote and wild coastal stretch located on the northern coast of Astypalea facing the open sea and the neighboring islands of the central Aegean. The area is defined by its rugged and exposed landscape where the hills are covered in low hardy scrub and the shoreline consists of large stones and deep waters. Due to its northern orientation and the complete absence of any commercial development the beach offers a sense of raw power and total isolation from the more sheltered bays of the south. The surrounding scenery is primitive and stark featuring impressive geological formations that highlight the islands diverse volcanic terrain and its untamed northern reaches.
