About the Beach
Vatses Beach is a wild and remote coastal area located on the southern coast of the island at the end of a long and impressive gorge filled with wild herbs and oleanders. The landscape is characterized by its dark pebbles and the presence of a small seasonal beach bar built from natural materials that blends seamlessly into the rugged environment. A primary feature of the bay is the nearby Negro's Cave which can be explored by those who enjoy hiking and adds a sense of mystery to the primitive landscape. The surrounding scenery is dominated by the steep and arid mountains that enclose the bay creating a dramatic and secluded atmosphere far from the islands main settlements.
