About the Beach
Patelia Beach is a remote and wild coastal area on the eastern side of Arki defined by its rocky shoreline and the presence of small caves and natural stone platforms. The landscape is entirely primitive and lacks any form of modern infrastructure or shade reflecting the raw and untamed character of the islands eastern coastline. Access to the area is primarily via old shepherds paths which has ensured that the landscape remains untouched by modern tourism and focused on its geological features. The surrounding scenery is dominated by the desolate beauty of the arid mountains and the open expansive horizon of the sea toward the nearby Dodecanese islands.
