About the Beach

Pera Gera is a quiet and very traditional swimming area located within the Gulf of Gera on Lesvos, offering a very different experience from the open sea beaches. The water here is shallow, very warm, and exceptionally calm, as it is protected by the unique geography of the large, landlocked bay. The shore is a mix of sand and pebbles, surrounded by dense olive groves and small traditional houses. It is a very local and unorganized spot where you can enjoy a peaceful swim in a setting that feels like a calm lake. There are several small tavernas along the coast of the gulf where you can sample the famous local seafood. It is an ideal destination for families and for those who want a slow and authentic island experience. The atmosphere is consistently tranquil and respectful, capturing the traditional soul of Lesvos.
