About the Beach

Plakes Beach is a unique coastal area located on the eastern side of the island near the airport characterized by its massive and flat limestone plates that extend directly into the sea providing natural platforms for sunbathing and diving into the deep transparent water in a landscape that is stark and rocky with very little vegetation reflecting the raw and prehistoric feeling of the islands eastern coastline where the terrain is entirely unorganized and focused on these specific geological formations for a primitive and unrefined connection to the Aegean.
