About the Beach
Psili Ammos Beach is widely considered the jewel of Schinoussa, located in a remote bay on the northeastern coast about a thirty-minute walk from the main village of Chora. It features fine white sand that forms small dunes and exceptionally clear turquoise water, providing a tropical and pristine swimming experience in the heart of the Small Cyclades. The beach is largely unorganized and maintains a raw, natural character, with a few tamarisk trees along the back of the sand providing the only source of natural shade. It is a destination for nature lovers and adventurers who want to experience the island in its most authentic form away from the busier port areas. The water is shallow near the shore and the entry is very easy and sandy for all swimmers, making it a favorite for those who enjoy a long and peaceful soak. Access is via a scenic walking path through aromatic scrubland, which helps keep the atmosphere quiet and respectful even during the peak summer months. You should bring all your own water and supplies for the day. The atmosphere is quiet and reflects the wild nature of the coast.
