About the Beach

Tarti is a spectacular and very popular beach located in a deep bay on the southern coast of Lesvos, known for its luminous turquoise water and fine pebbles. The bay is framed by high, green hills that protect the water from the winds, keeping the surface smooth and inviting for swimming. It is a well-organized destination with several excellent tavernas located right on the sand, famous for their fresh fish and traditional island recipes. The water is exceptionally clear and shallow near the shore, making it a favorite for families and for snorkeling. Despite its popularity, Tarti maintains a very friendly and relaxed vibe that captures the best of the island's seaside character. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful bays on Lesvos, offering a world-class swimming environment in a very scenic and welcoming setting.
