About the Beach
Tsambika Beach is one of the most famous and spectacular sandy shores on the eastern coast of Rhodes, located beneath the high rocky peak of the Panagia Tsambika monastery. It features a vast stretch of fine golden sand and shallow, crystal-clear turquoise water that remains calm because the bay is well-protected by dramatic mountain ridges on both sides. The beach is fully organized with numerous rows of sunbeds, umbrellas, and a wide variety of professional water sports centers and beach canteens that offer a high-energy social environment. It is a premier destination for families with children due to the soft sand and the very easy entry into the warm sea, which stays shallow for a long distance. The surrounding landscape is rugged and wild, providing a powerful natural contrast to the well-serviced shoreline. Access is very easy via a paved road from the main island highway, and there is a large parking area available for the thousands of visitors who arrive during the peak summer months. The atmosphere is vibrant and reflects the modern spirit of the Dodecanese. It is a landmark of the island and offers a wide, welcoming horizon.
