History

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Grand Rapids, Michigan was founded in 1926 by Greek immigrants, a humble beginning that grew steadily into one of the most distinctive Orthodox communities in western Michigan. After first gathering in a residential home for worship, the parish moved through several locations over the decades before settling permanently in 1976 at its current home at 330 Lakeside Drive NE in the Michigan Oaks neighborhood of Grand Rapids.

 

From its Greek immigrant origins, Holy Trinity has evolved into a genuinely diverse community, with parishioners whose roots trace to Greece, Romania, Serbia, Eritrea, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and many other traditionally Orthodox lands, alongside a growing number of converts and catechumens drawn to the ancient Orthodox Christian faith. Services are conducted with full Sunday Orthros and Divine Liturgy each week, rooted in the ancient liturgical tradition of the Orthodox Church and open to all who seek it.
