About Amaze Suites
Amaze Suites is a five-star all-suite hotel at the Agios Athanasios end of Imerovigli, set on the caldera cliff facing the Aegean and the sunset. Known as Santorini's Balcony until early 2024, it is family run and built in Cycladic style, and every suite has its own entrance and a private balcony or terrace.
Reception is staffed around the clock and wifi is free. Services include express check-out, luggage help and daily cleaning with fresh linen and towels. The concierge books private sailing trips, vineyard tours with tastings, guided hikes and visits to historical sites.
Rooms and suites
All suites have air conditioning, soundproof windows, a satellite TV, a minibar fridge, tea and coffee facilities, a safe and a shower room with a hairdryer. Each one has a private heated plunge pool or hot tub outside. The Poolfront Suite with Hot Tub and Caldera View (30 to 32 sq m) has a queen bed and faces the main pool, set up for two, while the Junior Suite with Hot Tub (30 sq m) adds a sofa bed for a third guest.
The Cave, Deluxe and Honeymoon Suites with Heated Plunge Pool and Caldera View measure 30 to 35 sq m and sleep two or three on a queen bed plus a sofa bed. The Amaze Suite is a similar 35 sq m, and the Superior Suite with Heated Plunge Pool takes up to three adults. At 40 sq m, the Loft Suite puts its bedroom up a flight of stairs for up to three, and the Executive Suite has two sofa beds for four.
Infinity pool and breakfast
The shared infinity pool has sunbeds and pool towels beside a pool bar and a sun terrace looking toward the sunset. A snack menu is served by the pool or in your suite, with cocktails and local wines, and the panoramic bar opens in the evening. Massages can be booked on request.
Breakfast runs from 8am to 10:30am from an à la carte menu of local produce, from artisan coffee and fresh pastries to regional cheeses, organic eggs and olives. Early or takeaway breakfasts are available for guests heading out before service.
Location and getting around
The hotel sits beside the Fira to Oia road at the northern edge of Imerovigli, with a bus stop next to the entrance and private parking for guests. The cliff-top footpath between Fira and Oia passes right in front.
The walk to the Skaros Rock trail is about 1.2 km (around 17 minutes), and the Church of Panagia Theoskepasti is about 1.4 km on foot. Firostefani is about 2.1 km on foot, and central Fira is about 3.1 km on foot (around 40 minutes) or 3.4 km by road. Oia is about 8 km by road, roughly 10 minutes.
Santorini International Airport is about 9 km by road (around 12 minutes) and Athinios port about 12 km (around 16 minutes).
Good to know
Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 11am, and guests need a photo ID and a credit card on arrival. All suites are non-smoking. Dry cleaning is available for an extra charge, and a wake-up service and a laptop or tablet on request are also offered. Amaze Suites suits couples and honeymooners, and the Executive Suite works for small groups of adults.
