Getting from Aegina to Porto Heli

If you are heading to Porto Heli from Aegina you are making your way to a sheltered harbour on the Argolic Gulf in the northeastern Peloponnese, with a marina, good beaches and Spetses visible across the water.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Aegina to Porto Heli. The most practical ferry approach is to take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Poros, which runs in summer and takes around 1 hour 20 minutes, and then connect to Porto Heli from there. The Saronic hydrofoil network also connects Porto Heli to Piraeus with 4 to 5 daily departures taking around 2 hours, so returning to Piraeus from Aegina and connecting is another option. Note that the hydrofoils serving Porto Heli are passenger only and do not take cars.

Getting there by air

Porto Heli has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. The fastest overall approach is to take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus and then drive south through the Peloponnese to Porto Heli, which takes around 2.5 to 3 hours from Athens.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus and drive to Porto Heli. It is the most practical approach and gives you a car on arrival. If you are not travelling with a car, take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Poros and connect to Porto Heli from there by taxi or local boat from Spetses.
