Getting from Aegina to Spetses
If you are heading to Spetses from Aegina you are making your way to a car-free island in the Saronic Gulf with neoclassical mansions around the harbour, a strong nautical tradition and a relaxed waterfront atmosphere.
Take the ferry
There is a direct seasonal ferry from Aegina to Spetses departing from Agia Marina port on the eastern coast of Aegina, taking around 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes and running a limited number of times per week. Agia Marina is around 13 kilometres from Aegina Town, connected by local bus. Outside of the season or when the direct service does not align, the alternative is to take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus and then connect to Spetses from there, which takes around 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours with several daily departures.
Getting there by air
Spetses has no airport. The ferry is the only option from Aegina.
Your best option
Take the direct seasonal ferry from Agia Marina when it is running. It is the most enjoyable and direct approach. If the timing does not work, take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus and connect to Spetses from there. Note that Spetses is car-free so if you are travelling with a vehicle you would need to leave it at Piraeus.
