Getting from Antipaxos to Evia
If you are heading to Evia from Antipaxos you are making your way from a tiny island in the Ionian Sea to the second largest island in Greece, connected to the mainland by road bridges and within easy reach of Athens.
Take the ferry
There are no scheduled ferries from Antipaxos to Evia. Antipaxos has no ferry port of its own and is accessible only by sea taxi from Gaios on Paxos. Getting to Evia means taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Igoumenitsa and then driving east to Evia, either crossing the bridge at Halkida around 4 to 5 hours from Igoumenitsa, or taking one of the short mainland to Evia ferry connections such as Arkitsa to Loutra Edipsou in the north, which takes around 30 minutes.
Getting there by air
Evia has no commercial airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Antipaxos has no airport either. Taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu and flying to Athens, then traveling to Evia by road or short ferry gives a total journey time of around 7 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Igoumenitsa and drive east to Evia crossing the bridge at Halkida. It avoids Athens entirely and is the most practical approach if you are traveling with a car. If you prefer to fly, take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, ferry to Corfu, fly to Athens and then travel to whichever part of Evia suits your plans.
