Getting from Volos to Antiparos

If you are heading to Antiparos from Volos you are making your way from a city on the Pagasetic Gulf at the foot of the Pelion peninsula to a small island just off the western coast of Paros in the Cyclades, on the opposite side of the Aegean. It has a Venetian kastro village, good beaches and an atmosphere that rewards those who stay overnight rather than visiting on a day trip from Paros.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Volos to Antiparos. Antiparos is accessible only via Paros, either by a 7 minute local ferry from Pounta on the western coast of Paros running every 30 minutes in summer, or by passenger boat from Parikia taking around 30 minutes. Getting there means driving from Volos to Piraeus, which takes around 3 to 3.5 hours via the E75 motorway, and then boarding the Piraeus to Paros ferry, which runs multiple times daily in summer, before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta.

Getting there by air

Antiparos has no airport. The nearest airport is Paros, though no commercial scheduled flights operate there in 2026. Volos has a small airport at Nea Anchialos with limited connections from Athens. Driving from Volos to Piraeus and taking the Piraeus to Paros ferry, before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta, gives a total journey time of around 7 to 9 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option
