About the Beach

Armathia is an uninhabited islet just off the coast of Kasos, home to the legendary Marmara Beach, which is frequently cited as one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. The sand is incredibly fine and white, and the water is a glowing, shallow turquoise that rivals the Caribbean in its brilliance. Visitors arrive by small excursion boats from the harbor of Fri, making the journey feel like a true adventure into a pristine wilderness. The island was once home to a small community of gypsum miners, and the ruins of their village add a hauntingly beautiful historical layer to the landscape. It is a place of total silence and light, where the purity of the environment is the main attraction.
