About the Beach

Helatros is a stunning and naturally protected bay located on the southern tip of Kasos, known for its unique shape that keeps the water exceptionally calm. The beach is composed of small pebbles and leads into deep, crystal-clear turquoise water that is perfect for a long, quiet swim. Because of its southern orientation, it is one of the few spots on the island that remains sheltered from the strong meltemi winds that often blow from the north. The surrounding landscape is dramatic and arid, providing a sense of being at the very edge of the Aegean. It is an unorganized beach, so visitors should bring their own supplies to enjoy the raw and peaceful atmosphere of this remote sanctuary.
