About the Beach
Kechria Beach is a hidden gem and a very peaceful coastal spot on the northern coast of Skiathos, located about eleven kilometers from the main town and accessible via a challenging but scenic dirt road. It features a shore of fine sand and small pebbles with crystal-clear turquoise water, surrounded by lush green mountains and a dense forest that provides a majestic natural ambiance. The beach is well-organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, most of which are uniquely placed on a soft grassy patch just behind the sand, offering a comfortable and fresh environment for relaxation. A traditional stone-built taverna is located right on the shore, serving authentic Greek flavors and fresh seafood in a quiet and respectful setting. The water is deep and fresh, providing an invigorating swim, though it can become choppy when the northern winds are blowing. Access is also possible by boat or water taxi from the harbor, which is a practical choice for those with smaller vehicles. There is a natural spring high above the beach that provides running fresh water for a quick shower. The atmosphere is quiet and reflects the slow rhythm of the Sporades. It is a choice for couples and those seeking calm.
