About the Beach

Koukounaries Beach is a world-famous and spectacularly beautiful sandy sanctuary on the southwestern coast of Skiathos, widely considered one of the finest beaches in the Mediterranean. It features a long crescent of extremely fine golden sand that glitters under the sun, backed by a rare and protected forest of Stone Pines that reach the edge of the shore. The beach is part of a delicate biotope that includes the Strofylia lagoon, yet it is fully organized with many rows of sunbeds, umbrellas, and high-quality beach bars that offer a cosmopolitan environment. The water is exceptionally shallow and crystal-clear, providing a safe and inviting spot for families and nature lovers alike.
