About the Beach

Ligia is a very charming and accessible beach located in the namesake fishing village on the eastern coast of Lefkada. It features a pebbly shore and very still, clear water that is well-protected from the winds. The beach is popular with families and those staying in the local apartments, as it offers a very friendly and traditional atmosphere. The waterfront is lined with some of the best seafood tavernas on the island, allowing you to enjoy fresh fish right next to the boats. While it is partially organized, it maintains a very low-key and local character. The entry into the water is easy and the clarity is excellent, making it a great spot for a relaxed afternoon swim. The view across the channel toward the mainland mountains is very beautiful, especially in the soft morning light. It is a very consistent and welcoming destination.
