About the Beach

Porto Katsiki is the ultimate flagship beach of Lefkada and one of the most photographed locations in all of Greece. It features a spectacular crescent of white pebbles and sand at the base of a towering, vertical limestone cliff. The water is a brilliant, glowing turquoise that is truly breathtaking to see in person. Reaching the beach involves descending a long set of stone steps carved into the cliffside, providing incredible views of the Ionian Sea at every turn. It is a largely unorganized and wild spot, though there are canteens and parking facilities at the top of the cliff. The water gets deep very quickly and is exceptionally clear, offering a world-class swimming experience in a setting that feels like a natural cathedral. It is a mandatory visit for anyone who appreciates the most dramatic and powerful beauty of the Greek islands. The contrast between the white stone and the blue sea is unforgettable.
