About the Beach
Mandrakia is a very picturesque and unique fishing village on the northern coast of Milos, known for its "syrmata"—traditional white-washed houses with colorful doors built directly into the rocks for storing boats. While it is primarily a scenic settlement, there is a small and very clear swimming area located right next to the colorful harbor. The water is a deep, transparent blue and provides a very authentic and atmospheric experience, as you swim with a view of the traditional Cycladic architecture. The village features one of the island's most famous seafood tavernas, making it a very popular and social spot for lunch after a dip. It is a fantastic place for photography and for experiencing the quiet, maritime daily rhythm of Milos. The atmosphere is friendly and very scenic, capturing the quintessential charm of the island's northern fishing communities. It is a very consistent and high-quality spot for a short, beautiful swim.
