Papafragas is an incredible geological site and a very unique swimming spot located on the northern coast, consisting of a deep sea cave that opens into a narrow, canyon-like sandy beach. The water is a luminous turquoise and is exceptionally clear, as it is protected by the high, white volcanic walls that enclose the channel. Access involves a careful descent down a steep and narrow path carved into the rock, adding a sense of adventure to the visit. It is a completely unorganized and natural monument, offering a very intimate and otherworldly atmosphere. The scale of the surrounding cliffs and the clarity of the water make it feel like a private natural pool connected to the open sea. It is an ideal destination for those who appreciate the most dramatic and unusual landscapes of Milos.
