About the Beach

Marpunta Beach is located on the southernmost tip of Alonissos within a lush and verdant peninsula that is almost entirely covered in a thick ancient forest of pine trees. The area is dominated by the natural greenery of the trees which reach right down to the waters edge providing a vivid backdrop and a sense of being in a protected ecological zone where the forest and sea are inextricably linked. While portions of the peninsula are associated with a local resort the landscape maintains a high degree of natural beauty with several small hidden coves and winding rocky paths that meander through the dense pine needles and coastal vegetation. It is a favored destination for those who enjoy a combination of organized comfort and the serene intimate feeling provided by the dense Mediterranean forest air.
