About the Beach
Mikros Mourtias Beach is a secluded and primitive coastal gem located on the southern tip of the island just below the historic village of Chora. The landscape is defined by its rugged and untamed character featuring steep rocky slopes covered in low Mediterranean shrubs and a few scattered olive trees that have survived the elements for decades. Because it is much smaller and more difficult to reach than its neighbor Megalos Mourtias it remains a sanctuary for those seeking absolute silence and a raw connection to the Aegean environment. The area is entirely unorganized and lacks any modern infrastructure providing a sense of total isolation where the only sounds are the sea and the wind against the limestone cliffs. It serves as a perfect example of the islands quiet and unpretentious beauty offering a stark contrast to the more accessible and populated bays near the port.
