About the Beach
Neimporio Beach is the historic and most popular coastal area of Chora situated in a large bay that is split in half by the impressive Tourlos Rock. The landscape is characterized by its shallow sandy waters and a scenic boardwalk lined with traditional tavernas and neoclassical buildings that reflect the islands maritime nobility. Because it is protected from the summer meltemi winds it offers a calm and family friendly environment with views of the Agia Thalassini church and the Tourlitis lighthouse. The surrounding geography is a blend of urban island life and natural beauty where the town hills provide a soft green backdrop to the bustling shoreline.
