About the Beach

Piso Gialia Beach is a popular and dynamic coastal area located on the eastern coast of the island near the picturesque village of Stenies and just a short drive from the capital Chora. The landscape is exceptionally scenic featuring high surrounding rocks and a golden sandy shore that is accessed via a significant number of stone stairs leading down from the chapel of Agia Fotini. Because it is a favorite spot for the islands youth and families the environment is lively and often filled with boats and jet skis creating a vibrant social atmosphere centered around its organized beach bar. The surrounding geography is a mix of traditional dry stone walls and lush greenery providing a classic and highly aesthetic Cycladic backdrop that makes it one of the most photographed beaches on the island.
