About the Beach

Chrissi Ammos Beach is one of the most famous and vibrant coastal spots on the island located on the main road between Gavrio and Batsi. The landscape is defined by its wide and bright environment where the surrounding low hills are covered in Mediterranean scrub and the area is fully exposed to the brilliant Aegean sun. As its name implies the golden aesthetic of the terrain is a primary feature and the beach is highly organized with umbrellas sunbeds and a popular beach bar that often plays music. Despite the high level of commercial activity the surrounding natural slopes remain undeveloped preserving the classic island character that has made it a central hub for the younger crowds and summer visitors.
