About the Beach

Sarakiniko is the most iconic and visually spectacular beach on Milos, famous for its unique lunar landscape of smooth, bone-white volcanic rocks sculpted by the wind and waves. It features a small sandy cove tucked between the massive rock formations and a series of deep, electric blue channels and sea caves. The water is exceptionally clear and provides a world-class environment for cliff jumping, snorkeling, and exploration. It is a largely unorganized and wild site, though its popularity makes it a very social and lively destination throughout the day. The contrast between the brilliant white stone and the deep blue of the Aegean is truly breathtaking and otherworldly. Walking on the smooth rocks feels like being on another planet, especially during sunrise or sunset when the light creates dramatic shadows. It is a must-visit natural monument that defines the surreal and powerful beauty of the island’s northern coastline.
