About the Beach
Vourni Beach is a small and very picturesque sandy bay on the southwestern coast of Tinos, located just around the headland from the more famous resort of Kionia and offering a quiet alternative for those who seek a more intimate setting. It features a shore of fine golden sand and small pebbles with exceptionally clear blue water that is well-protected from the strong seasonal meltemi winds, creating a safe and inviting spot for a day by the sea. The beach is partially organized with a few sunbeds and umbrellas provided by the neighboring beach bar, which offers a comfortable and social environment without disrupting the fresh and natural source of shade provided by the large trees lining the back of the sand. The surrounding area is relatively quiet and features a few modern guest houses and traditional stone-built structures that create a quintessential Cycladic atmosphere for visitors who value a well-maintained and respectful location. The water is shallow near the shore and the entry is very easy for all swimmers, reflecting the friendly and hospitable character of the local community that has carefully preserved this part of the island's coastline. Access is via a narrow but paved road that keeps the large crowds away even during the peak summer months, ensuring that the atmosphere remains quiet and reflects the modern yet traditional spirit of the island's growing tourism industry.
