About the Beach
Pachia Ammos Beach is one of the most exotic and strikingly beautiful coastal landmarks on the northeastern coast of Tinos, located about ten kilometers from the main town and famously defined by its massive golden sand dunes that resemble a desert landscape meeting the Aegean. It features a shore of very fine sand and small pebbles with intense turquoise water that remains exceptionally clear and fresh, providing a powerful contrast to the rugged green hills and the dry, wind-sculpted terrain of the interior. The beach is entirely unorganized and maintains a raw, majestic character, offering a sense of total freedom and privacy for those who make the journey to this relatively remote part of the island. Because it faces the open sea, the beach is often subject to the northern meltemi winds, making it an invigorating spot for a powerful swim when the waves are high and the maritime energy is at its peak. The water is deep and fresh, offering a high-quality environment for a long soak in a rugged and secluded setting where the only sound is the movement of the water against the dunes. Access is via a paved road followed by a short walk down a sandy path, which helps keep the atmosphere quiet and respectful even during the peak summer months.
