About the Beach

Xanemos Beach is a unique and breezy sandy shore on the northern coast of Skiathos, located directly at the end of the airport runway. It features a mix of sand and large pebbles with clear blue water that is often subject to the northern winds, making it a favorite spot for plane spotters who enjoy the dramatic view of low-flying aircraft. The beach is partially organized with a few sunbeds and a rustic beach bar that provides a relaxed and local environment. Because it faces the open sea, the water is fresh and the waves can be quite powerful on windy days. It is a destination for those who want a different kind of beach experience combined with the natural beauty of the Sporades. The surrounding landscape is dry and rugged, providing a sharp contrast to the blue sea. The entry into the water is via the stones and the depth increases quickly. You should bring your own supplies if you move away from the small bar area. The atmosphere is lively during flight times and peaceful in between. It is a landmark of the island.
