About the Beach

Xylosyrtis is a long and peaceful pebble beach located just a few kilometers south of the capital, Agios Kirykos. It is well-known among locals for its natural spring called "Athanato Nero," which flows nearby and is said to have therapeutic properties. The beach itself is unorganized and stays very quiet, offering a lot of space for those who want a simple day by the water without the noise of beach bars. The sea is exceptionally clear and gets deep relatively quickly, making it a great spot for a refreshing and vigorous swim. Because it faces south, it is usually protected from the strong northern winds, resulting in very calm and flat water. It is an ideal destination for travelers who appreciate a more traditional and low-key environment where the focus is entirely on the natural beauty and the sound of the pebbles shifting in the tide.
