Agios Georgios is a remote and stunning sandy beach located on the far northeastern tip of Ikaria, offering a truly wild and adventurous experience. It is situated right below the ancient Tower of Drakano and a small whitewashed chapel, adding a sense of history and drama to the landscape. To reach it, you typically need to hike along a rocky path or take a boat, which ensures that it remains one of the quietest spots on the island. The sand is soft and golden, and the water is a brilliant turquoise color that looks like a tropical lagoon. Because of its location, it is very well-protected from most winds, providing a very calm and still swimming environment. There are no facilities or shade at all, so you must bring everything you need for the day. It is a must-visit for anyone who wants to see the most untouched and beautiful edge of the island.
