About the Beach

Armenistis is a charming and very central beach located right in the heart of the popular northern seaside village. It is a small, picturesque sandy bay with turquoise water that stays relatively shallow, making it a favorite for families with children. Because it is nestled right below the village houses, it feels very cozy and integrated into the local life. You can spend your morning swimming and then walk directly into a taverna for a long lunch without ever leaving the seaside. The beach is partially organized, but it still maintains a very traditional and relaxed character. It is a great home base for exploring the north, as it puts you right in the middle of the island’s most vibrant coastal community. The view of the whitewashed buildings overlooking the blue water is one of the most classic images of Ikaria.
