About the Beach

Kambos is a wide and inviting sandy bay on the northern coast that perfectly combines natural beauty with a sense of history. The beach is famous for its soft, golden sand and water that stays shallow for a very long distance, making it one of the safest and most comfortable places on the island for a casual swim. It is located right next to the ruins of the ancient Roman settlement of Oinoe, so you can see pieces of history while you walk along the shore. The beach is very spacious and quiet, with just a few small bars and organized sections scattered along its length. A small river flows into the sea here, adding a lush, green element to the dry coastal landscape.
