History

All Holy Spirit Greek Orthodox Church of Elkhorn, Nebraska was founded in June 2006, established to bring Orthodox Christian worship to the western Omaha metropolitan area. The parish has been shaped from its inception by a clear and welcoming vision: to be an Orthodox Christian community devoted to worshipping God and living the Gospel, open not only to Orthodox Christians of every background but to all who seek a deeper relationship with God, regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey.

 

The parish draws its members from a remarkably diverse range of backgrounds, including those who were born into the Orthodox faith and those who came to Orthodoxy later in life through Chrismation, reflecting the universal character of the ancient faith in a city far from the large Greek Orthodox communities of the coasts. Services are celebrated at the parish temple at 450 South 193rd Street in Elkhorn, with Sunday Matins followed by the Divine Liturgy each week, and the parish maintains an Annunciation Bookstore to support the theological and spiritual formation of its members and visitors.
