Getting from Agios Efstratios to Zakynthos
If you are heading to Zakynthos from Agios Efstratios you are making your way from a small island in the northern Aegean to one of the most beautiful of the Ionian islands, on the opposite side of Greece. It has Navagio Beach, the shipwreck cove with towering white cliffs and turquoise water that is one of the most photographed places in the Mediterranean.
Take the ferry
There are no direct ferries from Agios Efstratios to Zakynthos. No Aegean island is connected by sea to any Ionian island. Getting there means taking the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos, flying to Athens and then either flying to Zakynthos or taking the KTEL bus and ferry via Kyllini, which takes around 6 hours in total from Athens.
Getting there by air
Both Zakynthos and the nearest airports to Agios Efstratios have connections from Athens. Taking the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos, flying to Athens and then Athens to Zakynthos takes around 55 minutes in the air. Total travel time is around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos and fly to Zakynthos via Athens. It is the most practical approach. If you are traveling with a car, fly to Athens, drive to Kyllini and take the ferry across to Zakynthos, which at around 1 hour 15 minutes is a short and frequent connection.
