Getting from Antipaxos to Milos

If you are heading to Milos from Antipaxos you are making your way from a tiny island in the Ionian Sea to one of the most visually striking islands in the Cyclades, on the opposite side of Greece. It has a volcanic coastline of white and ochre rock formations and beaches that look like nowhere else in Greece.

Take the ferry

There are no scheduled ferries from Antipaxos to Milos. Antipaxos has no ferry port of its own and is accessible only by sea taxi from Gaios on Paxos. Getting to Milos means taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu, flying to Athens and then either flying to Milos or taking the Piraeus to Milos ferry, which runs several times daily in summer and takes around 2.5 to 3.5 hours on the fast boat.

Getting there by air

Milos has its own small airport with connections from Athens. Antipaxos has no airport either. Taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu and flying to Athens and then Athens to Milos takes around 40 to 45 minutes on the second leg. Total journey time is around 7 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu, fly to Athens and then fly to Milos. The flight from Athens to Milos takes only 40 minutes and is the faster option. If you are traveling with a car, take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos and drive to Piraeus for the conventional Piraeus to Milos ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to Adamas port.
