Early Life

Pantelis Thalassinos was born on June 11, 1958, in Keratsini, Piraeus, to a father, Michalis, from the island of Chios, and a mother, Evangelia, from Serifos. At two, he moved with his family to Chios, where he attended school and first picked up the guitar at seven.

Career Rise

Thalassinos began performing in 1977, while also working for a shipping company until 1987, interrupted by twenty-two months of army service from 1980 to 1981. In 1986, he co-founded the group Lathrepivates ("Stowaways"). After the group disbanded in 1991, he returned to Chios, where he founded the live music venue Myrovolos. He returned to Athens and resumed live performances in 1994, and is currently a member of the group Triphono. Over his career, he has released six solo albums and contributed to more than thirty others as a composer or guest singer.
