About the Beach

Aegiali Beach is a wide and sweeping coastal area located on the northern side of the island directly in front of the traditional port village of Aegiali. The landscape is dominated by a vast crescent of land backed by a fertile valley filled with reeds olive groves and a long line of ancient tamarisk trees that offer significant natural shade. Because it is the main social hub of the northern region the area is bordered by traditional white houses and local tavernas providing a convenient and lively atmosphere that remains harmonious with the surrounding mountains. The panoramic views of the high peaks of Tholaria and Langada which frame the bay create a dramatic and amphitheatrical setting that makes it one of the most recognizable landmarks on Amorgos.
