About the Beach
Kalotaritissa Beach is situated at the southernmost tip of Amorgos in a large and exceptionally well protected horseshoe shaped bay that serves as a natural refuge for fishing boats. The landscape is characterized by its wide and open horizon and the surrounding low arid hills which are dotted with traditional stone walls and low scrubland typical of the southern Cyclades. Despite the presence of a small seasonal canteen and some organized spots the area maintains a primitive and remote feeling due to its distance from the main settlements. The bay is often filled with colorful traditional boats and the view toward the nearby islet of Gramvousa adds to the scenic and maritime character of this tranquil coastal outpost.
