Agios Dimitrios beach is one of the most popular and spacious sandy beaches on Agios Efstratios situated about 5 to 6 kilometers from the harbour. It features a long coastline of fine sand and deep blue waters that are flanked by rocky sections ideal for underwater fishing and snorkeling. The back of the beach is lined with numerous oak trees that provide ample natural shade which is a rare and highly appreciated feature on the island. Because it is more accessible than the southern coves it tends to attract more visitors though it still maintains a quiet and uncrowded atmosphere.
