About the Beach
Trygari beach is a remote and largely untouched cove situated on the western side of Agios Efstratios accessible mainly by boat or via a network of rough dirt roads. The beach is characterized by its volcanic grey sand and clear waters which often appear a deep blue due to the rocky nature of the seabed. Surrounded by steep hills and unique geological formations the bay offers a sense of total seclusion and a primitive environment away from any residential areas. Like many of the islands western shores it provides a perfect vantage point for the sunset across the northern aegean. Because it is unorganized and lacks any tourist infrastructure it remains a quiet escape favored by those seeking solitude and natural beauty.
