About the Beach

Ftelio beach is a large and expansive sandy stretch located on the western coast of Agios Efstratios about 11 kilometers from the islands port. The beach is notable for its unique texture consisting of fine sand mixed with small black volcanic pebbles that reflect the islands geological history. The bay is quite wide and open with clear waters that stay relatively calm during easterly winds providing an excellent environment for swimming and snorkeling. Scattered trees along the perimeter offer sparse natural shade but the area remains entirely undeveloped with no umbrellas or commercial services. Geographical resources describe it as one of the most significant and serene natural landmarks on the island favored for its scale and raw coastal charm.
