About the Beach
Agios Panteleimonas Beach is a secluded and narrow coastal spot located on the western side of the Katapola bay accessible primarily via a scenic hiking trail or by boat. The landscape is defined by the small and traditional whitewashed chapel of Agios Panteleimonas that sits right on the edge of the rocky shore providing a striking cultural landmark against the deep blue of the harbor. The surrounding terrain is rugged and steep with low scrubland and stone walls terracing the hillsides characteristic of the historic Amorgian landscape. Because it is tucked away from the main port settlement the area offers a quiet and contemplative environment where the primitive beauty of the coast is enhanced by the traditional architectural elements of the island.
