About the Beach

Agios Stefanos beach also known as 'Vgali' is a tranquil pebble and sand beach that offers a raw and unrefined coastal experience characteristic of the southern kalymnian shoreline. The beach features exceptionally clear deep turquoise waters that are ideal for long quiet swims away from the typical boat traffic of the busier western bays. The landscape is dominated by rugged limestone cliffs and low scrub providing a dramatic natural backdrop but very little organic shade throughout the day. Because it lacks any commercial infrastructure like sunbeds or tavernas the atmosphere remains exceptionally still and authentic making it a favored spot for residents seeking a simple and undisturbed connection to the sea. According to local descriptions and geographical data the beach is prized for this primitive quality and its ability to remain calm even when northern winds affect other parts of the island.
