About the Beach

Chochlakas Beach is a remote and wild coastal area located on the northern tip of Amorgos near the village of Ormos Aegiali accessible only by boat or via a challenging hiking path. The landscape is dominated by the massive vertical cliffs of the northern mountains and a shoreline covered in large smooth stones which give the beach its name. The surrounding environment is entirely primitive and unorganized offering a sense of total seclusion where the powerful northern winds and the scale of the rock faces create a dramatic and untamed atmosphere. There is no modern infrastructure or shade in this bay making it a destination for those looking to experience the rawest and most rugged elements of the Amorgian coastal geography in complete silence.
