About the Beach

Kalamitsi is a lovely and very relaxed beach located on the southern coast, featuring fine golden sand and very clear turquoise water. It is a great alternative to the busier Bonatsa beach, offering a similar high-quality swimming environment but with a much more local and low-key vibe. The beach is partially organized with a few sunbeds and a very popular traditional taverna located right on the sand, where you can eat fresh seafood with your feet in the water. Several large trees provide natural shade, making it a very comfortable and family-friendly spot for a full day of relaxation. The water stays shallow for a good distance, providing a safe and easy entry for everyone. It is a very friendly and accessible destination that captures the easy-going spirit of the island, where the focus is on simple pleasures and the beauty of the sun-drenched coastline.
