About the Beach
Prassa is often called the "Caribbean of the Cyclades" because of its dazzling white sand and luminous, pale turquoise water. The sand is actually composed of white volcanic chalk, which gives the sea an incredible glow that is visible from far away. It is arguably the most famous and beautiful beach on Kimolos, offering a world-class swimming experience in exceptionally clear and shallow water. There is a small and tasteful beach bar that provides umbrellas and drinks, but the scale of the beach allows for plenty of open space. The surrounding white hills add to the bright and airy feel of the bay. It is a favorite spot for the Mediterranean monk seal, which is sometimes spotted in the quiet sea nearby. The beauty of Prassa is truly breathtaking, making it a mandatory stop for anyone who appreciates the most vibrant and pure colors of the Aegean.
